Mac mini 2018 VESA Mount (behind monitor)

thingiverse

I wanted my Mac mini to vanish behind my wall mounted monitor. There are a couple of VESA mounts for Mac minis on Thingiverse, but (as far as I can see) not the kind that you can use together with a monitor on the same mount. This one you can. You can also choose whether the Mac mini hangs below, on the side, or atop the VESA plate, and where the connectors should point. You need: 4 M4x40 screws (hex or otherwise), 2 M4x10 screws (hex or otherwise), 2 M4x8 or longer screws (hex or otherwise), 8 M4 nuts. How to: * Print one of the base plate and the VESA plate, two clamps, and one stop. The VESA plate prints with supports, everything else should be fine without. * Outfit the base plate and VESA plate with nuts. * Screw the base plate and VESA plate together with M4 screws and nuts. M4x8 hex screws are ideal, but slightly longer ones work as well. The VESA plate acts as one of the four stops. * Screw the clamps to the sides where you don't want the connectors to point. Use the M4x40 screws for this. * Mount the assembly between your VESA monitor mount and the monitor. * Slide the Mac mini into the clamps, and secure it with the stop, which should be mounted with M4x10 screws. Disclaimer: This mounts an expensive bit of hardware in a way that if the mount breaks, the hardware falls down and potentially gets damaged as well. Print it sturdy. If anything happens, I won't take responsibility :-)
