The Macuahuitl is a sword-like weapon used by the warriors of various Meso-American cultures. It was made of wood and had obsidian or flint teeth glued into a channel. the term Macuahuitl has been variously translated as "hand-wood" (club), and "hungry wood." The later may refer to its similarity to a set of carnivorous teeth tearing flesh.
