Mad Cat / TimberWolf Mech Warrior with Micro Servo Recess

thingiverse

This is a model I recreated from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7579 I wanted to make some changes and put in a hollow recess to fit a servo and servo horn. I used Google Sketchup to build the torso from scratch. I also used it to create the servo horn recess at the top of the legs. Because of the way sketchup works, the imported stl files for legs and arms from thing:7579 have tiny holes in the geometry. I made my changes and then used http://cloud.netfabb.com/ to fill in the holes and output a printable stl file. I have attached all my google sketchup designs and the stl files ready to print. I printed this on an UP 3d printer, as you can see in the main pic. The servo recess fits a standard micro servo that you can buy on ebay for about $3 I did make the arms and body to have a small indent to glue in magnets to hold the arms in place but the weight of the arms makes the arms drop. Perhaps they can be repositioned or made larger.
