Madone hidden tool and chain-link holder

thingiverse

This is the last of the three designs in my quest to free my jersey pockets of stuff and instead carry items on the bike without impacting the aerodynamics too much :) The design makes use of the cavity underneath the bottle cage holder/access hatch on the down tube – it holds a multi-tool (by Scott) and a chain-link inside the frame and there is an external hex key holder to allow you to remove the hatch. Clearly this is not for speedy access, but good to know there is a multi-tool waiting inside the frame in times of emergency! The holder fits over the tapered section underneath the aluminium hatch lid and is secured with a screw. In my case the cavity below is almost empty as I have wireless shifters so only the hydraulic brake hose to avoid. I don’t think this will work if there are other cables present. I also had to carefully drill a hole in the bottle cage to allow the hex key to pass through to access the hatch bolt underneath. UPDATE: New version added to take a Lezyne mulit-tool
