If you want, you can help me with designing inserts by donating here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=J2YS7MREH8MU8 Hello, for those that don't know my ‘insert philosophy’ - I am creating modular inserts that are focused on reducing setup and space on table, filament consumption is not my highest priority, but of course I'm trying to save some material where I can. Important Notes: - this is DELUXE insert, it uses a lot of filament, but in my humble opinion - it's worth it, - please calibrate your printer (print calibration cube and check if XYZ is calibrated) - for example in towers there is small tolerance (0.4-0.6mm) between shelves, even if your printer is not calibrated shelves should work, but they won't open smoothly, - please rembember about polarization if you decide to use magnets, each tower and shelf needs to have the same polarization (same in all towers and opposite in all shelves), so you can swap shelves between character towers and player towers. Supports: - sleeved card, tested with Sloyca 70 microns thick, - vertical storage - it should work, but some components may be a little loose. Better to position it so towers will be at the bottom. This insert features: 1. character tower, there are 3 character towers used for storing everything related to that character. These shelfs are also used in player tower, so you can quickly swap them before game: 1.1. 1st shelf - action cards, abilities help cards and character card, 1.2. 2nd shelf - shield tokens and level tokens, 1.3. 3rd shelf - miniature, round order token, abilities tokens (with additional space for 2 tokens specific for scenario type)), 2. player tower - there are 4 (cool looking, at least for me :D) player towers, they are covered with brick texture, these will be used during gameplay and they feature save system. 3 of 4 shelves are identical to shelves from character tower, but they act a bit differently: 2.1. roof - you can store here during the game character card, mana crystals and level tokens holder (with level tokens of course, taken out from 3rd shelf), 2.2. 1st shelf: 2.2.1. during save - unit cards + tokens (you place first unit card, then corresponding level token, then 2nd unit card, then corresponding token etc., you should be able to store here also mana tokens belonging to unit), abilities reference cards, character card, cards on hand, you can store here also faction tokens, there is a possibility to store here own abilities tokens, but I haven't tested that, 2.2.2. during game - you can store here abilities helper cards or use this as a used cards container, 2.3 2nd shelf: 2.3.1. during save - at the bottom you place unused deck cards (face down), on top of them you place used deck cards (face up, so you will know how to tell them apart), 2.3.2. during game - you can store here unused deck cards, 2.4 3rd shelf: 2.4.1. during save - in one compartment you store your shield tokens, in 2nd mana crystals from your inventory (shield tokens fit in both compartments, but in the smaller one they can be annoying - they can block shelf from opening / closing, it's not a big issue because you can just simply shake it a little, but if you don't like that then you can store it in bigger compartment and crystals in smaller or in both), 2.4.2. during game - you can store here your shield tokens and take out level tokens holder and place it on the roof of tower, 2.5 4rd shelf: 2.5.1. during save - you store here miniature, order token, 1 unused ability (depending on the scenario) and holder with abilities(first you place in it undiscovered abilities, then divider, then your abilities, face up or down depending if it is exhausted or not) 2.5.2. during game - you can store here 1 unused ability token and undiscovered ability tokens (or you can take the holder with them out and place somewhere on table) 3. Round Dashboard - with save system: - left pull out holder for unused mana dices, - right compartment for saved dices, - middle pull out holder for “market” ability tokens, - top compartment for round order tokens with two possible ways to put order token (stading during the game and in compartment during the save), 4. Map Save - there are 18 “shelves” used for saving map tiles with tokens, it should speed up loading the game, 5. Discarded tokens holder - to store defeated enemies during the game and during save, City and Volkare army save holder - you can store here cards for city and above them enemy tokens that corresponds to given city (and volkare) (for example first green city card, then tokens, then red city card, then tokens etc.), 6. Map tiles holder with 3 dividers - one for city tiles, one for non-city tiles, one for countryside tiles and one for tiles used during the game, 7. Separate holders for expansions - one holder for faction tokens, one for large faction dials and volkare and faction cards, 8. Separate holder for each deck - you don't need to separate decks between games anymore (exception - one holder for day/night tactic, scoring, city, faction and location reference cards, but you can divide it with card dividers, I suggest dividing it into 4 ‘decks’, one for day tactics, one for night tactics, one for reference cards and one for saved cards ("market" cards), 9. Summarizing save - you only need to take picture of map tiles (how to place them) and fame & reputation board. Requirements: - about 3200g of filament or 2400g if you don't print: Player Tower / Player Tower Without Roof & Player Tower Roof and Save Shelf and print Character Tower instead - this saves around 310g Map Save System - this saves around 390g Tokens Save System - this saves around 100g - at least 196mm x 124mm print bed, - 50 6mm x 3mm magnets - you don't need them, they just add additional security, shelves won't open by itself with them if you accidentaly drop tower on the floor. They add also a nice feeling when you are closing shelf ;). Instructions: Supports - they are not required if I don't mention them. Magnets - holes are 6.2mm wide, so they should fit almost perfectly (you may need a little force), but just in case better to use glue, but before doing that - please, please remember about polarization, mistake will be costly, so be careful, - Tower_Character - print with back wall facing the bed, no supports required, print 3 of these, - Player Tower, print 4 of these of chosen version: Tower_Player - complete version, you can print it with back wall facing the bed, no supports required, but it will print with 1st layer texture (maybe you can print it with supports at 45 degree, but it is risky at it uses a lot more filament), if you decide to print it (and not Player_Tower_Without_Roof and Player_Tower_Roof) - you need to print 4 of these, Tower_Player_Without_Roof - version without roof, you print it normally but you need supports for bricks that are on the front, above holes for bricks from shelves, supports are not required for magnet holes, if you decide to print it you will need 4 of these, Tower_Player_Roof - only print it if you decide to print Player_Tower_Without_Roof, you will need 4 of these and you will need to glue it to the tower (there is a special ‘hole’ for it to assist you when glueing the parts) - Tower_Shelf_Save - print 4 of these, supports required for 2 bricks that are on both sides, no support required for magnet hole (better to use support blocker), - Tower_Shelf_Deck, Tower_Shelf_Hero, Tower_Shelf_Tokens - print 7 of these, supports required for 2 bricks that are on both sides, no support required for magnet hole (better to use support blocker), - Tower_Shelf_Tokens_Level_Token_Holder, Tower_Shelf_Hero_Abilities_Holder - print 7 of these, - Tower_Shelf_Abilities_Holder_Divider - if you decide not to use 1st shelf to save abilities tokens - I recommend printing 7 of these, - Cards_Artifact_Spell_Holder - print 2 of these, 1 for artifact cards, 2 for spell cards, - Cards_Unit_Holder - print 2 of these, one for regular and one for elite units - Cards_Divider - print 3 of these to divide cards in Cards_Other_Holder: Day Tactics, Night Tactics, Reference Cards, Saved Cards (from “market”) - Save_Map_Shelf - print 18 of these, - Save_Map_Shelf_Overlay - print 18 of these, - everything else - print once, without supports. Post processing: - components with covers - open and close like 20-40 times, after that it should open and close without problems, in extreme cases you may need to sand cover a little, - towers and shelves - similarly to covers, but you may need to sand down bricks above and below holes (for shelves bricks) in towers a little. What future holds: - there is possibility that I will redesing save city & volkare component so it will be more useful during the game, - maybe I will redesign map save system if current solution won't be useful, - I may add fame & reputation save system, - I may combine map tokens holder, faction tokens holder and maybe save city & volkare component into one larger component, - other components should be still viable despite above changes. Enjoy!
