MagHex Tiles for Gloomhaven ======================= I created this base and tile system to allow for fast and easy scenario setup for Gloomhaven. I'm still working on the design, but I think I have it mostly nailed down now. If you run into any problems please make a post in the comments section. Need walls? Try my [Maghex Walls for Gloomhaven](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3610790). They are currently a work in progress, but I'm rapidly improving the design. Help me develop it and make it better! :) ###Features - The system allows you to print just the bases you need without printing tiles for every different terrain type. - You only need around 163 full size bases to create the largest of dungeons in Gloomhaven (Scenario #40). - Tile tops can be printed separately and they snap into the top of the MagHex tiles. - You can use many other existing tiles in the system. ([Like RobagoN's terrain tiles](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2998323)) - MagHex bases come in three different heights to allow for pits, water, or lava to be recessed. (Spacers are not magnetic) - Magnets are press fit into slots on the bottom of the MagHex bases. It's a friction tight fit and requires no glue. There is an opening on the top to remove them should you need to. - MagHex bases stack for easy storage! - Use a metal sheet on your table to really lock down the scenario! - Created to use a bare minimum of filament. Requires about 2g of filament and print in about 10 mins or less for each full sized base. - Half and quarter sized tiles allow you to build rooms with flat walls on the edges. ###Notes - MagHex tiles can use either 6x3mm or 3x3mm cylindrical neodymium magnets that you can buy in bulk from ali express or ebay. - Don't want to use so many magnets? Try the [MagHex Linked](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3652021) bases! (only available in 3x3mm size for now) - 3x3mm cylindrical magnets are cheap (~$14 for 1000). - The polarity of the magnets needs to alternate North, South, North, South, North, South around the tiles. The polarity of all center magnets needs to face the same direction. - I have tested all pieces except the linked bases and everything is working correctly, but if you run into any problems please make a comment so I can help. ###Tiles Needed - COBBLE - Scenario #40 - 261 Total Tiles 163 - Traversable Tiles 98 - Under-Wall Tiles Used in 46 Scenarios - STONE - Scenario #43 - 222 Total Tiles 150 - Traversable Tiles 72 - Under-Wall Tiles Used in 27 Scenarios - DIRT - Scenario #75 & #38 - 178 Total Tiles 106 - Traversable Tiles (#75) 74 - Under-Wall Tiles (#38) Used in 31 Scenarios - WOOD - Scenario #60 - 177 Total Tiles 112 - Traversable Tiles 65 - Under-Wall Tiles Used in 13 Scenarios - WATER - Scenario #18 - 24 Total Tiles Used in 11 Scenarios - COALS / LAVA - Scenario #10 - 17 Total Tiles Used in 4 Scenarios - DARK PIT - Scenario #39 - 12 Total Tiles Used in 2 Scenarios ###Changelog 04.29.2020 - Added a Water Pit base. Fill with resin to make water pits or lava pits! Thanks to [MeaDMaDe](https://www.thingiverse.com/MeaDMaDe/about) for the idea! 03.17.2020 - Added a Spike Pit tile. Thanks to [Kaptainjon](https://www.thingiverse.com/Kaptainjon/about) for the idea! 05.26.2019 - Thickened the center part of the center mag tile to prevent splitting that was occurring when inserting the magnet. 05.24.2019 - Moved the [MagHex Linked](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3652021) frames to their own thing to reduce clutter on this thing. 05.22.2019 - Added a full set of linked MagHex 3x3mm frames for all the different types of board pieces for Gloomhaven. Personally I'm not sure if these are worth it because one of the primary goals for the system was to reduce unique pieces. On the other hand I figured that some people may want an option that takes less magnets to get up and running with the system. And this may actually enable for a faster setup. (I'll know once I finally get my magnets to test this!) 05.12.2019 - Added a Lava tile! It's a minor tweak of the dirt tile and a pain to paint. I printed in white then used 4 shades of yellow to red paint (Reaper brand; Cheap craft paint wasn't vibrant enough) with brown and black for the floaty rock bits. 04.16.2019 - Minor Update to the 3x3 MagHex bases to allow easier insertion of magnets. 04.14.2019 - Added a new full size MagHex base that has a place for a center magnet to firmly mount walls, obstacles and doors with. (this design is beta and may change) (Thank you [MikhailHm](https://www.thingiverse.com/MikhailHm/) for the suggestion/idea) - Updated all MagHex bases with a corner cut near the bottom to prevent elephant foot and help the bases stack easier. 04.12.2019 - Minor update to all the third size tiles to make them easier to fit into the bases 04.10.2019 - I discovered the hexagon base I was using was not perfectly symmetrical and so I recreated all tiles to a new perfectly symmetrical base hexagon.(previously printed tile tops still fit perfectly) - After more testing to replicate dungeons from the scenario book I realized that the third size bases and tiles did not help make flat walls like I intended, So I have redesigned them and all tiles that go on them. - The wood pattern has been updated to make it seamless. 04.06.2019 - Removed all 3x1mm MagHex bases (did not stick together hard enough. Thank you [Walktime](https://www.thingiverse.com/walktime) for testing!) - Added full set of 3x3mm MagHex bases - Added full set of MagHex Spacer bases. (these will allow for pits, lava and water to be recessed from 3x3mm MagHex bases) 04.02.2019 - Updated the Wood tiles with smaller grain to make it look a bit more realistic - Changed the orientation of a few Wood tile tops to allow proper alignment in more circumstances 03.31.2019 - Added half and quarter MagHex tile bases (This should cover most dungeon designs) - Added 3 Stone tile tops with cracks - Added Blank tile tops in full, half and third size. (Can be used as Stone tiles) - Added 6 Wood tile tops - Added 4 Cobblestone tile tops - Added 3 Dirt tile top
