Magic strap buckle (magnetic)

<p>For my 100th publication at Pursaprinters.org, I have chosen to upload this magnetic strap buckle for one-inch straps. I find it very easy to print and very useful for everyday usage. It can be used on backpacks, to tie down garden equipment, tarpaulins, or almost anything else that needs to be secured and released frequently.&nbsp;</p><p>Thanks to the pressed-in magnets (5x5x2mm), the two sides so the buckle find each other almost by themselves. Once the buckle is snapped closed, it can withstand very high pulling forces, due to the mechanical hooks.&nbsp;</p><p>Use the strap tensioner parts to hold the strap loop together on either side of the buckle.</p><p><strong>Printing:</strong></p><p>All parts can be printed simply in the uploaded orientation with no supports needed. I recommend 100% infill for maximum strength. The two parts of the buckle print in around one hour when printed together.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Versions:</strong></p><p>There are different versions as you can see at the number in the file names. The parts are compatible across versions, the improvement is simply to make the snap together even easier. I recommend to use the highest version of each part.</p><p>Update 16.01.22: For the belt tensioner there is now a version that say “extra strong” in the file name. One of the users gave me the feedback that on his backpack the tensioner was breaking. For such demanding applications I have now created this extra strong version which is bigger and higher. Pick either the normal one if you want a finer look or the extra strong if you are worried the normal one might break.</p><p><strong>Assembly:</strong></p><p>Use one square neodymian magnet 5x5x2mm one each part of the buckle. When printed from PETG, the parts are tight enough and flexible enough that the magnet can simply be pressed in without glue. Since PLA does not shrink and is less flexible, it will be necessary to glue in the magnet if you use PLA. Make sure you have the orientation right on the magnets, otherwise your buckle will refuse to close (trust me, I messed it up once).</p><p><strong>Disclaimer:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Please don't be a fool and use 3D printed parts for application where loss of life or injuries could occur or where significantly valuable parts are in danger.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
