Magnetic bracket for doors and enclosures

This bracket was inspired by the combination of zuspiel's Tinker-Friendly LACK Enclosure and andrewar's Door Handle keep closed. Links to these are included below. I use two of these brackets to keep the acrylic door for my LACK enclosure closed: one for each screw of the door handle. zuspiel's Tinker Friendly LACK Enclosure: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2012384 andrewar's Door Handle keep closed: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:36465 Custom Section Required Hardware (1) 18mm diameter x 3mm thick magnet per bracket. I recommend neodymium magnents due to strength. They won't be too long because you're going through 1mm of filament. (4) M3 x 6mm screws (if you use the screw cap). (2) #6 screws to mount the bracket. 3/4" should suffice. Most of the hardware is easy to find anywhere. I got the magnets at Home Depot, SKU #632229: http://www.homedepot.com/p/MASTER-MAGNETICS-0-7-in-Neodymium-Rare-Earth-Magnet-Discs-3-per-Pack-07047HD/202526369 Instructions Print the bracket and one or both caps. I recommend 50% infill for structural integrity and a cleaner finish. It won't add much time to your print. Insert your magnet into the cavity in the bracket, and cover with the cap. I've noticed that the caps seem to prefer a specific orientation even though they're 24mm x 24mm. Perhaps it's my 3D printer. For the pin cap, I recommend a line of superglue around the edges. For the screw cap, use (4) M3 x 6mm screws. I used cap head, but button head will also work fine. Mount to your suface and you're good to go! Additional notes My personal preference is the screw cap as it is both more secure and can be easily reopened, should you want to salvage the magnet later. However, both caps work so I leave the choice to you.
