Magnetic cover for double din stereos in Buicks. I used Meshmixer to add the Buick Logo to the cover design (see coverLogo.mix). There is only a 0.4mm layer of plastic covering the finished side of the 12x3mm magnets on the mounting plate (print finished-side-down), so be sure to glue the magnets in BEFORE you remove the finished print from the build-plate. The other magnets can be glued in after removal. I finished these pieces with black acrylic artist paint applied with a natural sponge and then added the wood veneer to the back of the face-plate using Elmer's ProBond glue. Final attachment to the dashboard using Scotch fasteners as shown. I had to create the second layer of backing to accommodate 2 magnets in each backing plate hole - if you only use one magnet, then you don't need to print the 'Backing' file. You can also use the file named stereoCover.stl as a starting point in MeshMixer or another mesh editor to add your own logo.
