Magnetic Eyeglasses Holder

Magnetic Eyeglasses Holder

I need glasses (or a microscope) to read some food labels. I was looking for a good storage place in the kitchen for my glasses and I stumbled upon a few glasses holder designs. I decided to make my own slightly different to stick on a refrigerator or other metal surface in the kitchen. The 8mm dia. X 2mm thick magnet (10 for $2.99 at Harbor Freight, 67488) is press fit into the hole. I was going to glue it but after I put it in the hole to check the fit, it was so hard to remove, I left it. I printed this in resin using default Chitubox settings for my Elegoo Mars printer in Elegoo Translucent Standard resin except that the support density is 70% and the support angle is 60°. The holders are angled at 45° on the buildplate. (Except for the magnet fit, the dimensions are not critical and there is very little load on it.) This eyeglasses holder was drawn in TurboCAD Platinum. It is a sweep of a small circle along an ellipse to form the ring. That is added to the base which is an extrude of a smaller ellipse. The top edge of the base is filleted and the bottom edge is chamfered. There is a small fillet where the ring meets the base. A cylinder the size of the magnet was subtracted from the base.
