I designed these magnetic inserts to work with the Tidy Town terrain by Digitial Taxidermy. You'll need the Tidy Town terrain set (or similarly sized boxes) to use these. I transport my minis with magnets but don't trust the magnetic sheets and prefer magnet to magnet contact. These trays allow me to switch out what group of minis I'm transporting because I attach the trays themselves to the bottom of the boxes using magnets. Notes for utilisation: Polarity of the magnets is incredibly important. When putting 8mm magnets in the bottom of the trays, make sure the polarity of the magnets matches on all corners of all trays. This will allow you to switch out trays to any box. I glue the magnets to the underside of the trays with super glue, let it dry, then attach second magnets to those magnets, put super glue on the bottom of the second magnets then put the tray in the box to glue the magnets to the bottom. This aligns the magnets to the right spot on the bottom of the box. You need to make sure the polarity of the magnets on the bottom of your minis all match as well, and that they align with the polarity of the magnets in all of the trays! I have made sure that all of my minis have their magnets using the same polarity by always using a reference mini. For 32mm and 25mm bases, make sure the magnets are roughly center and flat with the bottom of the base. If I don't have magnets of the perfect thickness I use Milliput to fill the gap between the magnet and the base. I also always put Milliput around the magnet to help secure it and diffuse the magnetic field on the sides of the magnet to keep the minis from being attracted to one another on the battlefield. I have 4 trays so far: One for 32mm based minis One for 40mm based minis One for 90mm based minis (Redemptor Dreadnoughts, for example) A weird one for storing two 64mm based minis (Warhammer Dreadnoughts), 2 80mmx50mm rectangular based minis (I use these custom sized bases for my Thunderfire Cannons) that are stored vertically, and 2 32mm based minis (for my Thunderfire Cannon operators)
