Magnetic box with sliding lid - used to hide keys under car Materials: 4 neo-dymimium magnets 9mm x 2mm I designed this box with 4 holes in the bottom so 9mm magnets can be glued in, making a box that can be stuck on the underside of a car. I couldn't be bothered buying a key lock for when I go surfing or visit a swimming hole so decided to print a black box with a sliding lid to stick under my car (I used to just sit my keys in the suspension of my car). I figured this is a little more security conscious. Print Settings Printer: Cocoon create Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 2.5mm Infill: 20% Notes: I put supports in the first print and it turned out average. Removed supports on the second print and came out beautifully. Using a cocoon create (Wanhao i3) with a 50mm blower fan upgrade I could bridge these gaps with no dramas. !!!!In your slicer, make sure you split objects as the box is a few mm higher than the lid for some reason. Splitting levels them onto the print bed in your slicer!!!! Post-Printing After printing I sanded the tongues that slide into the box a little. It was too perfect a fit, and I wanted it to slide a little better even though I had a decent tolerance in production. Just use some wet and dry sand paper and give it a quick sand. Slides nicely.
