Magnetic Knife Rack

Magnetic Knife Rack

thingiverse

This is a design for a magnetic knife rack. Check the instructions for how to use it. I've included 6 designs for this rack, and I'm willing to make more if anyone has something they would want to see. I would love some feedback so if you do print this out definitely let me know how things went or if I should change anything. I hope you like it. Instructions Ok, so in order to use this, you will need magnets. These are designed to be used with 1/2 inch diameter by 1/8 inch thick neodymium disc magnets. I got these ones from amazon, but I've heard good things about magnets4less.com or unitednuclear.com. http://www.amazon.com/Applied-Magnets-Brand-10-pc-Neodymium/dp/B004OOQCVE/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t So get your magnets, print out your part and slide the magnets through the back. In order for this to work you need to alternate the polarity of the magnets. If you don't then the magnets will repel each other inside of the piece. After your magnets are in place, there are three ways to attach it to the wall. First and easiest is to use the properties of the bar to attach it to the side of your fridge or microwave as I did. (the microwave shouldn't be affected by the relatively weak magnetic field that this produces). If your kitchen isn't set up to work like this, then you can use 3M command strips or the included screw slots to hold it up.
