Magnetic Parts pickup with quick drop

I have a big one of these I built with a large Magnetron magnet, but it wouldn't fit in small spaces, so I created a smaller version. I ordered these magnets from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074BP1FR8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Unfortunately, they weren't 1.26 inches in diameter as advertised but were actually 1.16 inches, so I made a second set of files to fit the magnets I received. Many magnets are marketed as 1.26 inches or 32mm, but mine measured around 29.5mm. Both sets of files are now available for printing, and you can choose from caps with .5 inch or .75 inch diameters. A .75 inch dowel worked well, but you could also use a .5 inch rod or print a solid .5 inch cap and drill to the desired rod size. The spring is from an old 4 inch sprinkler head. I used three magnets initially, but two would be sufficient; too many magnets might cause parts to pass through the barrier when pulling back to release them. If this happens occasionally, a second pull usually gets the part to drop. Cheers, Kisssys
