Magnetic Screw Holder (Modular)

Magnetic Screw Holder (Modular)

I keep losing screws when I disassemble something and so I wanted a screw holder which would hold small to medium screws. The design I created allows for a magnet to be pressed into the cavities during printing which can help retain screws if they can be magnetized. I have 2 main designs here, I have a 1x1 cell which is modular so that you can print however many you like, as well as a 6x3 version. Both of these have variants without the void for the magnets if you'd just like the holder itself. I used defective (indented, scratched, or just out-of-tolerance) sculpting magnets as magnetic inserts. These are super common 5mm spherical magnetic balls such as Buckyballs, Neoballs, Zen Magnets, etc. If they are 5mm spheres, and magnetic, they will fit. NOTE: If you are planning on insetting some magnets into the model, make sure you pause the print at a layer height so that the magnet cannot slip out. For example on a .24mm layer height I paused it at layer 15 so that the hole would slightly retain the magnet. Also, make sure your pause function locks the stepper motors so that you do not misalign the printer during insetting. Enjoy :)
