I have an Anycubic Photon UV resin printer and washing the printed parts has always been a bit of a faff.

I saw ChickenHaunt's magnetic stirrer parts on Thingiverse and thought it was a great idea, so printed them. Unfortunately, I found a few parts of the design didn't work that well for me, including gluing the brackets to the machine (they just fell off). I also discovered a slight dimension issue on the front brackets that meant they didn't sit flush on my machine and the handle for the stirrer was a little long for many smaller FFD printers.

So, I tweaked the original design and also added side peices. These make the whole thing a bit more rigid and also mean that you do'nt need to fix the brackets with glue or screws. The frame can still be removed, but when it's on, it's not going anywhere.

As well as printing the parts, you will of course also need to buy the same magnetic stirrer machine and container:

Stirrer: https://amzn.to/2TxVBX5
Container: https://amzn.to/3cbyc65

I recommend that you buy a couple of containers and print two copies of the platform and handle. I also opted to solvent weld the handle to the platform to make it a little more secure. I used EMA Plastic Weld for this (and all of the joints), as it works excellently with PLA/PLA+ and many other plastics.

That's all I can think of. I hope it's of use to others, and thanks again to ChickenHaunt for the original idea and design.

UPDATE (24 May 2019): I've added a second version of the handle that is easier to print and requires far less support material and negates the issue of supports for the 90 degree overhang in the original design. The handle is split into three parts which are then solvent welded together.

Mòran taing a h-uile duine!

Print instructions

FILAMENT: PLA+ - It works well. It's strong, has a little flex and is resistant to submersion in IPA.

RESOLUTION: 0.2mm - this is a good compromise between finish and speed. LAYERS: 5 layers (top and bottom) and 4 layers (walls).

INFILL: 12-15% for most parts, however the handle is best printed with a little more infill to improve its rigidity.
