This is a tube holder designed for magnetic beads separations in molecular biology. **The design must be printed twice and the two parts screwed together back-to-back**, so that it allocates 16 tubes but only needs 8 magnets. It uses eight 2 cm x 1 cm x 0.5 cm neodymium magnets. The pull strength is just a bit lighter than a popular commercial product whose name starts with D and ends with ynamag2, and it's quite adequate. The tubes should fit snugly but comfortably (+1mm gap space added to the diameter of the tube). They fit in an angled position so that the distance of the bottom half of the tube to the magnet is minimized, for a further increase in performance. You will also need: - 8 neodymium magnets, 2 cm x 1 cm x 0.5 cm; - 2 screws (this design was tested with 16mm length, 4.5mm head diameter metal screws for wood); - glue gun; - (optional) liquid glue suitable for plastic; - (optional) 4 silicone door stoppers, 8mm diameter x 4mm+ height.
