Magneto Helmet

Magneto Helmet

thingiverse

A wearable helmet inspired by Magneto from X-Men: Days of Future Past. I wore this to Comic Con Denver 2017, and it survived all 3 days without breaking. Sizing Table (Estimates): Measure the circumference of your head around your brow (see the included picture), and consult the scaling percentage chart below. These are based on estimates I generated in my modeling software. Brow Circumference (in mm) | Scale Factor (all dimensions) -----------------------------------------|------------------------------------------ 765 mm | 1.25x 734 mm | 1.20x 704 mm | 1.15x 673 mm | 1.10x 643 mm | 1.05x 612 mm | 1.0x 582 mm | 0.95x 551 mm | 0.90x 520 mm | 0.85x 490 mm | 0.80x 459 mm | 0.75x NOTES: 1) I have a fairly large head, so the helmet maybe big on you if you print it as it is. If you scale it let me know your brim circumference and scale factor so I can fill out the table above. 2) Depending on your print bed size (and helmet size) you may want to split the helmet into multiple pieces. I had to split mine into 4 separate pieces. A bit of Bondo will fix this problem easily. 3) Leave some space between your head and the interior of the helmet. You'll want to attach foam pads on the inside to make it more wearable, and you'll want adequate space (~5mm) to pull you head out of the helmet. If you follow my scaling guide, I believe this space should be adequate. Thanks to lehthanis for use of his human head model that allowed me to design this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:758647 Its his model featured as the head model in the pictures. This file does not include the head model.
