MakerBot Gnome

The MakerBot Gnome is ready to travel far and wide to wherever you may download and 3D print him. Don't worry, he comes equipped with goggles and a jet pack. This MakerBot Gnome was designed here at MakerBot in Pixologic's ZBrush, a digital sculpting tool. We printed this model on a MakerBot Replicator 2 and painted it, as seen above. Then we scanned the painted model using the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner. You can see the results of that scan under "Remixes". Find the file called "MakerBot Gnome -- Scanned!" Feel free to download and examine both this original 3D printed model and the scanned model. You can notice where the detail was lost in some places, as well as some great details that were not lost. For more information on the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner, visit makerbot.com/digitizer.
