16Jan16 @ 20:16 This is a print cooling fan that I designed for my Makerbot i3Pro. I could not find another one that I could get to work with my hotend (mostly due to nozzle orientation and height), so I decided to design my own. I had a hard time printing my first nozzle design because I had no print cooling capabilities, so I modified it to be printed easier without cooling. The last thing I want to do (and I haven't simply because I have been lazy) is cut away all the extra support that I had to add to make it print correctly without a bunch of overhangs. I'll get to that soon and will upload a cleaner version that you can print after you have this one installed and working. I used a generic 12V 50mm Blower Fan 5015 (50x50x15mm) that I found on ebay. Works great so far. I raided my R/C parts bin for various fasteners. Sorry for the lack of details, but my printer is now in my closet and I have had too many ales to get it out right now and measure all the bolts. I printed all the parts using Makergeek grey PLA set at 207C in the hotend and 60C for the bed. To get this to work, I had to move the wiring to the other side of the print head, and I also had to rotate the extruder motor either 90 or 180 degrees, can't remember which. No big deal there. Also please keep in mind that I designed this around my particular hotend nozzle placement, which might be lower of higher depending on how far the nozzle throat is threaded in. I would suggest adjusting the nozzle throat rather than altering the nozzle dimension, but that's up to you. Sorry for the orientation of the STL files. I rotated them in Slic3r but forgot to change the Solidworks source files. If you have trouble with them let me know and I will upload new ones that have them orientated the right way. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!
