This part will allow you to mount non-standard extruders to a RepRap Mendel. The pictures show an MBE-v9 by QU-BD but the goal of this part is to enable the mounting of any Makerbot style extruder. You can mount any Thing-O-Matic or Cupcake extruder, the most practical options being a Plastruder mk7, Frostruder v2, or Unicorn. Makerbot's open source toolheads are really sweet (and I have a bunch of them) so I decided to try some of them on a Mendel. Now, so can you! Instructions BOM: 4xLM8UU bearings 10 M3-20 OR 10 #4-40x3/4 countersunk machine screws 10 M3 OR #4-40 nuts (whichever you choose, make sure they match the bolts) Makerbot extruders are bolted in with 2 M4 bolts, but I kept them off the BOM because I see them as more of an extruder part. If you have a QU-BD extruder, the version 2 files will work fine. Depending on your extruder you may need to move the center holes. This can be easily accomplished in Blender. I printed the rails out and then used the physical part to determine where the holes need to be. You could also drill the holes if you want. I included version 1 options which have different hole positions as well. Anyway, print two belt grips and a matching set of left and right rides. Assembly is pretty self explanatory.
