During the initial build of the i3v printer, I cut away the upper left corner of the x-idler mounting plate in order to provide better fit alongside the right-side z-nut bracket. In replacing the stock z-nut brackets with RickSisco's http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:769057, I wanted a new plate without the trimmed corner. Two STL versions of the x-idler plate are provided. One is 48mm long, a direct replacement for the stock wood plate. The other is 60mm long, which covers the two horizontal v-rails completely and may provide a better mechanical installation for the x-idler. The plate leverages the roundCornersCube script from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8812 to provide the option for round corners on the plate. The provided STL files were created with the corner radius set to 2mm. Instructions If generating new STL from openSCAD, download the roundCornersCube script from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8812 and copy it to where ever you put other custom library scripts. The i3v_x_idler_plate script assumes the use of a Custom folder in the openSCAD library area; modify the path location as necessary. Print the bracket plate with a high amount of infill in order to provide a rigid mount for the x-idler and to withstand the compression from the idler mounting bolts.
