This is definitely a work in progress but it fits pretty well and does what its supposed to so I figured I'd upload it even though I don't consider it to be finished. It's a six led ring that mounts to the X carriage of the MakerFarm Prusa i3 in order to illuminate the work surface. I used some small self tapping screws to attach the ring to the back plate. Be careful though, as the channel the ring fits into is a little on the thin side so it cracks easily. Also, the ring itself is a little thick so when Z is homed, its pretty close to the build surface. I don't see any potential issues, but use it at your own risk. These are both things I plan on improving in the near future (next day or so). *UPDATE I redesigned the LED ring and came up with a much better design. The V2 ring has only one part and bolts directly to the X carriage with a captured nut. This offers much more clearance, less complexity and more durability. I'm leaving V1 on here in case anyone has a use for it. 02/03/2014: I increased the size of the captured nut hole and added a lip on the back of the ring to keep it straight. This version (3.1) works pretty well and I'm considering removing the others. Instructions V2 printed the same as V1. Bolts directly to the X carriage with a captured nut. You will have to do a bit of filing on the bolt hole and nut slot. I will re size them in the next day or so. Default print settings worked for me. To attach the back to the ring, use 2mm self tapping screws. A washer would probably help. I used the type that come with full sized hobby servos. It helps to run a small drill bit through the first holes on the mounting bracket. As for the LEDs, I used six super bright LEDs from RadioShack.
