I've upgraded my Itty Bitty Dual Extruder setup by installing Clough42's innovative extension for additional space needed on a second spool. I had fantastic results using BigBadBison's excellent Spool Holder Extension design, so I enhanced it to fit two rolls and now enjoy effortless dual extrusion. To create more convenience for those using the same hardware, I've provided downloadable files that incorporate improved functionality into three key components: an adjustable filament guide post, a static non-adjustable version of the guide post, plus extensions for the base plate and center spindle, while retaining the original side posts made from sturdy MakerFarm wood. In order to construct this customized upgrade successfully, you will need to have at least one M3x16 bolt and nut handy to secure the upright post securely. Assembling Instructions I used ABS materials to create these pieces for added strength, decreased friction against moving parts and overall increased efficiency. Keep in mind that a couple of key components extend over nine inches, making it essential to take care when transporting them and be aware of any constraints during assembly due to size considerations such as those presented by standard 7x7 print areas. To make assembly less troublesome on an existing setup with dual nozzles facing towards the center spindle or posts for added support during extrusion when one nozzle remains idle.
