MakerModel42 Butterfly Knife (fully 3D printed)

thingiverse

This is a fully 3D printed symmetrical butterfly knife modeled after a Benchmade Model 42 as reference. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ooNpJtH2Is4" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> Be sure to know your printers tolerance settings as the model accounts for ZERO TOLERANCE between the pins and the model. I suggest you scale down the pins to 98 or 99% of the original model size before printing. You may need more or less depending on your printer. In order for it to flip smoothly, you will likely need to lubricate the plastic pins and "Break in" your butterfly knife by rapidly moving the handles. Do this until the blade flips to your expectation. Included is the Fusion 360 File that also shows the joinery. The CAD file is built with bad practices, and I apologize if you dislike the construction because of it.
