A battery case that allows you to power Makita power tools from a 12 volt source, Instructions These two files represent the top and bottom of a Makita 9.6 volt battery. When snapped together it will fit all Makita 9.6 volt power tools and power them with the voltage supplied. Both parts are less than 4" or 100mm tall so you can print with most 3D printers. I have choosen a 12v cigarette lighter power adapter to power the drills. Twelve volts works quit well and gives the drill extra power. The instructions are on the pictures. Essentially you need to make contacts out of some metal sheeting. I used aluminum cut to 1/4" by 4". This was heated to melt the ABS and insert the tabs from the outside of the battery in slots designed for that purpose. This heating process makes for a tight fit. The contact strips are then insulated with shrink wrap. You need to modify the drill for the exiting cord so I drilled out the "+" sign on the handle and removed excess plastic to the base of the drill. This made the site of the wire exit uniform from drill to drill. I then inserted the battery case and drilled a hole in its side. The wire was run through the hole and a knot placed close to the end. The wires were then soldered to the metal strips in the battey's top and covered with shrink wrap. Although it may not matter I took care to attach the positive wire to the positive side of the battery marked by the hole you drilled. I then snapped the parts together and secured it with a screw if I ever need to get back in. It works great. I have a corded drill when my battery goes dead. I have repurposed an old drill that now works better that new.
