Makita/Katsu Dust Shoe and Laser Guide

thingiverse

This is a heavily remixed version of Monsieur Krapapock's Makita/ Katsu dust shoe. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2857941 I liked his design but changed it to attach directly to the router and to fit my specific vacuum hose. I found that my 5mm by 3mm magnets weren't strong enough to hold the dust shoe securely so enlarged them to 10mm by 3mm. I was unable to make the tongue and groove work to my satisfaction so eliminated the tongue from the bottom part. The larger magnets seem to be holding it firmly in place but have included an STL for a couple of tabs which can be attached to the bottom of the upper mount to prevent possible side to side movement. I widened the brush plate to better fit the brush material I'm using. I also repositioned the endoscope mounting hole to insert it at an angle instead of straight down which required using a 90-degree mirror tip on the endoscope. Lastly, I added a laser alignment plate to the design and a battery mount for the laser assembly which clips onto the vacuum hose. The laser setup was inspired by this instructable... https://www.instructables.com/A-Laser-Guide-for-CNC-Alignment/ My changes were all roughly made so feel free to clean up any errors in my redesign.
