Makita RTO701C Router Mount

Makita RTO701C Router Mount

This is a mount for a Makita RTO701c (or any 65mm router). It is designed specifically to be used with the OpenBuilds double-wide gantry plate on a CNC router, but you could obviously use it with any plate you can drill/tap with the correct hole dimensions. Works/looks best with m5 socket cap screws (I use 10mm). The first generation of this I designed wasn't rigid enough and I was getting some chatter. This version is very rigid and has improved my cutting speeds significantly. I printed it in ABS, but PLA or polycarbonate would be even better. You can read more about this build here: http://openbuilds.org/builds/salmon-sphinx-1-0.4968/ **Update**: I've added a beefier version to decrease vibration at higher RPMs. If you don't mind the increased print time and filament cost, I highly recommend it. I printed it at 100% infill as well. All together, it took about 10 hours to print, but is significantly better.
