This mod makes some basic changes to the blaster to make it similar (though not perfectly accurate) to the OTs-14, which is essentially a bullpup version of the AKM. Originally distributed to special forces in the Russian military, the weapon saw some use before production was cancelled in 1999. Internally, this mod makes very few changes to the original Manatee, with most of the modification being esthetic. However, the rear section of the gun has been streamlined to match the AKM-like design of the Groza with a flat bottom. This may limit the size of the batteries you can use, but since I haven't printed the blaster myself, I can't say for sure. Now, to address the two elephants in the room: 1. Yes, it does look more like a real-steel firearm now. If that's a deal breaker for you, then may I suggest the original file: the manatee V4. It's really well designed and has a different esthetic, so that might be a better pick. Also, there's always the option of printing the blaster/painting the blaster in brighter toy-like colors. In any case, orange markings on the barrel are a must. 2. It doesn't look enough like the OTs-14 for some hardcore fans of the original firearm. There are some small changes I could have made to the design to make it more accurate to the source material, but overall I like the less detailed design due to the fact that it's a nerf blaster and not supposed to be a perfect 1:1 copy. Instructions: there are very few instructions for this blaster that you can't find on the original Manatee file, with a few major exceptions: 1. I have completely gotten rid of the front cap. By integrating it with the front section of the front receiver, I was able to give it a more flattened and, in my opinion, more aggressive look when compared with the original. It also matches the source material a little better this way. 2. In that same vein, I added a barrel ring. If you leave two or so inches of tubing past the barrel ring, you have something resembling a cartoonishly large muzzle device. Lazy solution, but it works for me. 3. I added some small strips that can act as connecting brackets between the two parts of the carry handle. All you need to do is drill some small holes through the brackets and into both sections of the carry handle and then screw them to the printed parts to help secure the connection. Alternatively, you can just glue the whole thing together or if you're extra lazy like me, you can use a optic of some sort to secure the connection between the two. 4. To use the peep sight below the rail, you'll need to carve out the small plastic sections that are currently blocking the sight. They're thin and should be easy to remove with a Dremel or a file, but for some reason my editing program wasn't able to remove them without crashing, so I just left them in. Once again, they should be simple to remove. Other than the five files included here, all other parts of the blaster are the exact same as the original Manatee V4. Everything included in this file should work with the hardware kit that Manateex72 will be selling on their Etsy, but if not the adjustments should be minor.
