This is an alternate clip to hold the pieces of Jazzmyn's Customizable Marble Machine together. The clip has a block in the back of it designed to hold a cylindrical magnet. Using these clips with magnets inserted and the track pieces from Jazzmyn's Customizable Marble Machine you can build a marble track that mounts to a ferrous metal surface. This clip is a much tighter fit on the track pieces than the original clips from Jazzmyn's set. They have a slightly larger lip around the edges and have slightly smaller interior diameter so they grip the track pieces more tightly. My intent was to make the clips grip the rings tightly enough that no zip ties are needed. I designed this clip to be used with 1/4 inch x 1/4 inch neodymium magnets that I purchased from Applied Magnets. As of the time I write this, these are model #ND014 in the www.magnet4less.com store. You can find these magnets at this link. The hole for the magnet is a tight fit because I wanted the magnet to stay in the block by friction, even when pulling the clip off of a thick ferrous surface. This means it's somewhat difficult to insert the magnet and requires significant force. The technique I use is to place the cylinder magnet on a hard flat surface, then press the clip down into the magnet with my thumb, pushing down on the inside the ring directly over the block. Print Settings Printer: Deltamaker Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15mm Infill: 50% Notes: I print these in PLA with no support. Three solid layers on top and bottom, and 3 outline/ perimeter shells. On my printer there is usually a small bit of stringing around the top of the front of the clip, but I just snip it off and the clip works fine. How I Designed This I designed this using OpenJSCAD. It's great!
