Marcomannic Rune Set

Marcomannic Rune Set

cults3d

A set of Marcomannic runes cut into stone-shaped pieces. Print results are light and feel good in the hands. The Marcomannic runes compose a runic alphabet consisting of a mixture of Elder Futhark with Anglo-Saxon futhorc runes. These were recorded in a treatise called De Inventione Litterarum, ascribed to Hrabanus Maurus and preserved in 8th- and 9th-century manuscripts mainly from the southern part of the Carolingian Empire (Alemannia, Bavaria). Though the blank rune is not historically accurate, I have included it because some folx like to use it in their readings and I didn't want to leave them out. Check back in the coming days for other rune sets I am building for the other "futharks" as well. These can be scaled up in your slicing program to create big rune stones for use in your home, garden, workplace, etc.
