Marvel Legends Fantasticar

Marvel Legends Fantasticar

I wanted to create a toy-esque version of the Fantastic Four's model 1 Fantasticar, nicknamed the Flying Bathtub. The four cabs are designed to be held together or separate into individual vehicles, but without sacrificing the exterior design. The seats for each cab have holes cut out of them to house magnets so that the sections "lock" into place automatically. I've got magnets each with an 8 lb pull on them in place now; they're not quite strong enough to hold everything together by themselves, but they do work well in conjunction with the bumpers, which are only looped over the complete vehicle and held in place with basic friction. All the other pieces (the controls, seats, cushions, turbines, and logos) are intended to be glued in place. Everything should fit together snugly, but it's not necessarily designed to lock in place. If you're unconcerned about the separation functionality, you could just glue everything together. The spaces for the magnets are effectively invisible once everything is assembled, so you wouldn't have to bother trying to fill them. The only "painting" I've done here are the controls and the headlights, which were just done with colored Sharpies. The bulk of the coloring comes from the filaments themselves. I'm using two different blues here, but they could easily be the same color. This is scaled for Marvel Legends figures, as you can see from the photos. (Admittedly, the leg room is a bit tight in the side cabs but it does work.) In theory, you could increase or decrease everything for Megos, Mini-Mates, or whatever.
