UPDATE #2: Made some slight modifications (files are now labeled MK2) to include locking rings as part of the docking rings - noticed with temperature/humidity fluctuations the rings were expanding just enough that some of the minis were coming loose. This addresses that and adds a hole underneath to improve the ease in removing the minis. I started working on an optional design that would accommodate sleeved cards, but the added thickness will require a significant redesign to the card holders. I'm shelving that project for a while (as I do not sleeve my cards) but may return to it in the future. This is a follow-up design to my previous Marvel United Core Box Reorganizer: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4891362 My goal overall was to reduce the number of boxes on the shelf (8 to 4), and improve the organization of the minis, cards, and tokens in order to speed setup/teardown time. I plan to also do a design for the Spider-verse box to store all of the Spider-man characters together, leaving me with the Core Box, Big Box, Spider-Verse, and Infinity Gauntlet (no redesign needed). This design focuses on the Big Box that came with the Kickstarter add-on figures. It provides safe storage for 46 minis and their character cards. As with my previous design, I opted for docking rings to firmly hold the character bases as opposed to the commonly-used organizer compartments. With the addition of the locking ring, the minis should theoretically stay in place if you opt for vertical storage, but I opted to store mine horizontally. You'll need four copies of the top storage sections, and two of each of the bottom. In an effort to organize by theme, The top sections hold five minis and their cards each, which works for the Black Panther and Asgard expansions (although I don't have my Asgard set yet to check clearances). For the two larger bottom plates I chose one for Guardians of the Galaxy and the other the Defenders - but you could organize them in pretty much any order. There is a correct placement of the pieces in order for the bottom pieces to provide proper support for the upper pieces - see picture above. My cards are not sleeved, so this design does not accommodate sleeved cards due to clearances. The Location Holder sits on top of the top plates and locks them together using tabs. It also has notches to set the Villain dashboards on top. As before, I used the SHIELD logo from SJThreeD's Coaster set as a cutout to save on some filament and add some pizzazz: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4726031 Eventually I will post a design for my final box (Spider-verse) but I don't have that expansion yet. These designs should also theoretically work for the X-men sets coming next year. I'm pleased with how this has streamlined my Marvel United game storage, and hope others find them useful as well!
