UPDATE #2: I've uploaded new MK2 versions of the base plates that include a small locking ring on the back side of the docking rings to keep the minis from sliding, and cut out the space underneath the minis to make it easier to remove them. I also reduced the center plate dimensions by 1mm to allow for fluctuations in temperature/humidity. Went ahead an unmarked the "work in progress" as I think this addresses the issues with the original design. I wanted to be able to take an assortment of the extensive amount of minis with me when going to play a few games with friends, but didn't want to haul multiple boxes or any number of other all-in storage solutions. My version allows for the storage of 20 minis and their corresponding cards in the original base box. In my case I have 12 heroes and 8 villains, but any combination would work. I started by printing the Marvel United Magnetic Token Tray by Super_Satchmo: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4837832 And modified the lid remix by RaccoonWithSpork to have a smaller version of the logo on the lid: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4853377 Note that I had to widen the magnet holes, as my 5mm x 5mm magnets didn't fit as printed. Same for the washer cutouts on the lid, they were just barely too small for #6 washers, so I had to notch them a little larger with an Exacto knife. I printed three of the short trays and one tall tray to make sure the raised logo on the lid fit inside the box. I also added notches on my base plates to superglue #6 washers so that the magnets on the bottom of the token tray help hold the stack in place within the box. The card holders allow room for the 20 character card sets, and should be wide enough for sleeves, but could create issues due to the thickness. (My cards are not sleeved.) The holders also serve as a ledge for the location cards to sit on, and I added a support plate for them to sit on to avoid sagging over time. (This also helps hold the token trays in place, although really between the magnets and the lid they pretty much stay put.) FYI - the Card Holders were the only pieces that needed supports for the overhangs on the bottom and the two semi-circle cutouts. I used the SHIELD logo from SJThreeD's Coaster set as a cutout to give this some extra flair: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4726031 There should be enough room to add additional location cards if you were packing expansion characters and their locations into the base box. Also, the 10 minis under the location cards are limited in height, Vision was about the tallest that would fit. But the 10 corner spots can pretty much hold even the tallest minis. Villain dashboards and the center arrow panel sit on top of the card decks and the prongs at the top of the card holders help hold them in position as well as supporting the box lid. I opted to go for docking rings for the minis as opposed to sectioned organizers in order to save on filament and printing time. The docking rings are intentionally a tight fit so that the box can still be stored in the upright arrangement on your shelf without the minis falling out of place. I've noticed that not all mini bases are exactly the same size, or not perfectly circular - probably due to manufacturing discrepancies - but in most cases rotating the mini took care of the problem. (i.e. They might have to be sideways or facing backwards compared to the other minis.) This was my first custom project, so I'm sure it's not perfect, but I'm pleased with how it turned out, and hope others find it useful too!
