Mason Jar Handle

Mason Jar Handle

A handle for regular mouth mason jars. I designed this as part of a gift to be used with hot chocolate I sent with the jars. Must be printed in ABS for use with warm/hot liquids or the handle will soften. Designed to be mounted from the top as illustrated in the pictures. The clip-on feature is intended to keep the handle below where your mouth meets the jar and the short handle are intended for fast printing of many of these. Left me know if there are any requests for improving the design. Print Settings Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm Infill: 25 Notes: Must use ABS for hot drinks, tested with PLA - it softens and will come off when on a warm/hot jar that is filled. The glass transition temperature of PLA is too low to be used warm. Repeated removal of the handle will start wearing off strands if printed coarsely (.3mm) with weakly bonded ABS, so better resolution and appropriate print temperature for good layer bonding will minimize wear. Also as a reminder, ABS is not rated as food safe so it is recommend to not send it through the dishwasher. Print upside down, prints well without raft, and with a bit of support between top of handle and the platform. Post-Printing Minimal Cleanup. minimal support under the handle should come off readily with finger motion. How I Designed This Some of the iterations shown here. Fusion 360 for the win.
