Master Sword - Breath of the Wild Edition

After being bummed about missing out the awesome Breath of the Wild - Master Edition, I realized I can just make my own! I drew inspiration from the statue that was included in the Master Edition, though it is far from a replica. I used the blade as designed by Davidikes (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:282800) and made the base myself. The sword model is cut in half for easy, no-support printing. It also ends in a square cut, rather than the traditional point. This makes inserting it into the base easier, and allowed the base to be shorter, giving the illusion that the blade actually goes through it. The insert for the base has a .25mm tolerance, but it was still tight when I printed it, even after sanding. First 2 images are the front and back painted, while the 3rd image is fresh from the printer, with ZERO post-processing done. My painting skills are lacking, and I didn't heavily calibrate my machine before such a detailed print, so it looks a bit rough, but it seems to work with the theme :) I hope to see how awesome this can look with some REAL painting skills. Thanks everyone! Update 3 (8/9/2017) - After a computer issue and a scare of losing the original file, I have uploaded a revision of the base to better fit the whole sword (with point). The slot of the sword tapers in, is 20% wider and 30% taller than the original to still give the right scale. Update 2 (4/2/2017) - At a request, I added 2 new halves of the Master Sword with the point left on. I have NOT tested this, so it may not fit in the base. Update 1 (1/22/2017) - Added a new file called 'Sizer' that has the same cutout as the base, but is MUCH smaller and quicker to print. This should allow you to find the correct size for the base for your printer, without needed to print multiple bases. Print Settings Printer: DaVinci XYZ 1.0A Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .1 for sword, .3 for base Infill: 10% for both Notes: Given the small size of the sword, I printed it at exceptionally low speed, to give each layer a little extra time to cool.
