Mathstick
thingiverse
Mathstick was my second year university project at South Bank University in London, currently on display at the Enterprise Centre. Mathstick helps young children grasp basic math concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It can also foster creativity when used as a construction toy for abstract shape building. There are 3 sets of 10 laser-cut shapes that interconnect with each other, called "sticks," which come in different colors representing various denominations (1s, 10s, 100s). Although there's no limit to the number of sticks you can create or cut, as space allows, they can be used to form number bonds and perform subtraction, multiplication, and division operations. The sticks also enable kids to build movable shapes that stimulate their imagination when they're bored with math problems.
