This design lets you mount an iPad Mini (Gen 5) to a Mavic 2 (Pro or Zoom) drone controller. It consists of two separate designs. The first is a part which fits into each of the two handles on the controller. There is one STL, and you print it twice (the left and right parts are identical). The second is the actual holder. The iPad slips into the holder, and then the holder fastens to the handle extensions through the hole. The holder is kept in place by the nuts (once again, you print out two parts from the single STL). I don't like the commercially-available mounts because they put the display above the controller. This blocks the view of the controller display and also makes the controller + display very top-heavy and tippy. By putting the display below the controller, this solves both problems. The prototype worked great, but I expect to make a few minor tweaks and revisions so I have labeled this a "work in progress." I am planning to add back some sort of sunshade (you can see my earlier work where I used the same handle extensions to support a cardboard sunshade). I think I can screw on a sunshade to one (or both) of the threaded rods, in place of the nuts. I based the handle mounts on a lanyard mount design for this same controller that was posted here on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3568306 I took the idea, redesigned the part in my own way, extending it considerably. I included a hole near the handle in case you also want to attach a lanyard cable. The designer of the lanyard part included a video to show how they are installed. Click on the link above to see that video. My arm extenders install in exactly the same way. I have included the f3d Fusion 360 files so you can modify the design. Both f3d files are parameter driven, so most of the design can be changed by simply plugging in different numbers. The one exception are the support rods on the main body. If you try to increase the diameter, that won't work because the threads, added as the last step in the design, restrict the diameter change. You will instead have to remove the threads and then re-model them after you've change the diameter.
