Mawsonia (Mawsonia gigas)

Mawsonia gigas was a large extinct coelacanth which lived during the Early Cretaceous periode, in North Africa and Egypt. Few details are known about its behavior, so I imagine it filling the same ecological niche than modern wells catfish or alligator gar. I used my previous coelacanth model as a base for this design, scaled it to represent a 4-5 meter idividual and adapted the general shape to resemble the bulkier build of most representation of the genus. I exagerated a lot the size of the teeth (it is most likely that the species did not have teeth at all...) in order to be able to print them in 1/35, but they will need to be removed from your model if you want a more scientifically accurate Mawsonia representation.
