Maximinus Thrax bridge-laying support vehicle based on the Chimera hull. Blue flat bridge is meant to be made of cardboard or plastic. The M-Thrax bridgelayer named after an Emperror of Old Terra, was designed to lay a combat bridge while under enemy fire to enable armoured units to advance. The procedure was to advance the vehicle forward to the intended crossing and then perform a rapid 180* turn. Alternatively the vehicle was perfectly capable of driving backwards to the designated spot as both sensors and commander viewports also faced backwards. The wheel base was marginally shortened to enable better manoverability. Upon reaching the intended crossing, the M-Thrax operator would lay and anchor one side of the bridge down on the "friendly" side, and then activate the solid fuel Rocket Boosters that would propel the other half of the bridge to the "enemy" side. The force of the rockets would at the same time open and propel the bridge to a flat position. The weapon's grade Targetter and Floodlight ensured the pin-point acuracy of the bridge deployment and enabled night-time operations. A well trained crew could perform a combat bridge deployment in as little as 10 seconds. The piston arm was used to prepare the bridge for deployment and to retreive it under non-combat conditions.
