Maxstone 8 Rear Steering Servo Mount

Maxstone 8 Rear Steering Servo Mount

I wanted to add rear steering for my Maxstone 8 truck. With this servo mount, all you need is the servo and M4 hardware to make it work. Just swap the steering linkage from the fixed point on the driver's side over to the servo and the passenger side. The configuration pictured will make the wheels turn in the same direction if using a Y-cord, so you can use an in-line servo inverter or just flip the servo over and use a longer tie rod (I estimate you will need a 71.5mm long one). While using the stock steering arm, the servo only fits one way. This particular Maxstone 8 truck is being run by a Pixhawk, so just connected the new servo directly to an open servo output on the Pixhawk and set it up as "Ground_Steering" in Mission Planner.
