MAXTERSPOOL - ONE SPOOL TO RULE THEM ALL.
Announcement: on Printables.com will be all newer Versions Dear Friends, From the first moment i saw the idea of Masterspool i was in love with it and hoped lots of manufacturer going with this idea and producing for this Format. But they did not :-( lots of refill Filaments in lots of Sizes. Sunlu ESun Bambulab etc etc. all this Companys have slightly other dimensions. Even when i used their original Spools i ran into Problems. So i tried to face the issues and solve the Problems i had. Many many Hours later it was done .
So at the end i am proud to introduce the Maxterspool.
1. Galaxycore: I tried lots of iterations but this Spiral-Design with 4 Wings was the best to fit all my refill spools. The Galaxycore in 45 mm is good for Masterspool standard. The Galaxycore in 55 mm is good for Sunlu and eSun standard. The Galaxycore in 60mm is good for Bambu standard. In case of refill without cardboard (and you are using the Filamentgauge) i advice to use diametercatchrings because otherway the spool will expand at the end and the Gauge is wrong telling. 2. Sidepanels The Sidepanels are 198mm in outer Diameter and 32mm hole. The Maxterspool uses left and right the same Sidepanel so you can Print always the same and dont have to look for left and right models. Model Features: Gripring: The Gripring is very usefull if you are using Spools on a Rubberrole like in the Bambulab AMS. Slide spikes: This prevents the loose wind Filament from sliding down beside the Spool and Sidepanel and stucking there. Insertholes: There are holes for one or for three inserts so you have all Filamentinformations on Place. you can also stuff the holes with Spikeplates if you go with the Plain Model. I liked the Honeycomb-Design because it saves material, makes everything stiffer and looks cool. I Advice not to go for a Lightweight Design . 3. Insertplates: Filamentswatch insert with: Bridgingtest Thin Wall Test Hexnut M3 and M4 Test Hole Diameter Test Materialname insert: Some Predefined Sorts (PLA ABS PETG ...) are made. Also a Template to put a Sticker on it which comes with the Filament. There is also a Transparency Test on it with layerhight 0.1 - 0.2 - 0.4 - 0.6 - 0.8 - 1 - 1.5 Filamentgauge: Every Spool is different, so in fact you have to do your own math to know what is on the spool. In case of Sunlu and Bambulab i did an example. You can use the Marks for own measurement. Spikeplate.: As i explained i had often the Problem that the spool slipped in the Sidepanel to the core and so stuck midprint. if you have this Problem and choosed Sidepanels without Spikes, this is the option to tune your spool and prevent your Filament from sliding. I Printed the Core in PLA because its a realy stiff Spring effect. If you like the Design leave a like and show some Love to support the Project.
