MCon-System - Basic ball and socket element V2.0

Introducing the MCon system: A modular construction system based on ball and socket joints carefully optimized for 3D printing in numerous iterations. Variable and individually fixable angles and lengths Allows the production of (also subsequently) individually adaptable structures for smaller to medium loads. Optimized for 3D-printed components and inexpensive standard parts (M2/M3 screws, optional: aluminum tubes 12x1 mm and 8x1 mm). "Gooseneck-like" flexibility allows almost free positioning of e.g. light sources, cameras, soldering aids, various mounts, measuring devices, lab equipment, and many more. Connecting elements allow inclination angles of 60° with a rotation angle of 360°, special elements allow inclination angles of up to 210°. Friction of the clamping can be steplessly adjusted from "freely movable" to "rigid" and readjusted if needed. Struts can be extended to double length and optionally fixed in length, respectively telescoping friction can be adjusted. Elements allow internal feed-through of cables up to 6 mm diameter. Various adaptors for mounting on surfaces or furniture via screws, clamps or magnets as well as for mounting of e.g. LEDs, clamps, fans, USB sockets and others. Further adapters are currently under development. MCon Basic ball and socket element Basic Element for building "gooseneck-like" structures compatible to all other MCon-System Elements. This basic element allows you to test the general characteristics of the system and see if you have any issues in printing the parts. You will need one M2x16 or M2x12 screw per element for adjusting the friction of the clamping. M2.3 self-tapping screws do also work, but for best performance use machine screws. On the pictures you see some examples on what structures you can build using the MCon system. I will upload all of the shown elements in near future and I'm also developing even more elements for special purposes. This download includes the "basic ball and socket element" only (Pictures 2 and 3). If you have recommendations for new elements, let me know in the comments. This design is for personal use only. ALL "MCon-System" elements are protected by copyright.
