Mechanic Measuring Clamp (for hollow objects; carving)

Mechanic Measuring Clamp (for hollow objects; carving)

Hi, This is a mechanic measuring clamp i made to get the "exact" measurements on difficult to get to places, especially for carving wood. It is exact within 1mm to 2mm. That is sufficient for carving. The measuring scale i put on there goes from 0cm to 9cm in 1cm steps. There should not be any bigger sizes that need measurement than 9cm (you can see that with your eyes without measuring ;) ). There is one file for single colour. there you simply don't print the letters. You can paint them yourself if you want. Maybe you should consider printing it laying down on the other side then, so the letters are on top. But then you may need support. If you print dual colore with one extruder like me i will link the video i learned it from. This Video was not made by me and all credit goes to the creator. Cura Plugin: Z Offset Setting by fieldOfView. The print worked out for me without it but i realized that my prints always started at the height of the build plate. Even when i use the setting in cura that the files don't get dropped to the build plate, the print still started at zero. Regarding the files: Start with the "measuring_clamp_1_first_layer.stl". Then change your filament to another colore and print the "letters.stl". After that change your filament again and print the "measuring_clamp_1_top_layers.stl". For installing plugs like these i also created a plug assembly tool. Tool for easier assembly of plugs: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4823520/files Have fun printing and have a nice day. ;)
