This mechanical Character is an object which is almost completely 3D printed, easy to assemble and great for a mini project. Turning the main gear rotates the other gears and in turn moving the human in a way it looks as if he is pushing forward. It uses a series of two large gears and and 3 smaller to drive the body. This model is designed to use little to no support. the few parts which require support are not difficult to remove. The model consists of 33 printed parts and one store bought part. The inspiration for the shape of the structure came from Fernand Léger, a French painter, his painting the builders, shows how man is shaping the world and industry. As 3D priting is becoming more easily available and is shaping the world i saw this as a fitting inspiration.
