Mechanical Endstop v1.2
thingiverse
The mechanical endstop is a straightforward solution for detecting when an X/Y/Z stage reaches its limits. It avoids the complexity of flags or light beam interruptors by employing a mechanical switch placed in the path of the stage. When the stage moves against it, the switch closes automatically. No modifications to the stage are required. For reliability, the switches can withstand 1 million operations before failure and, since they're used only once per print, they guarantee a million prints without replacement.
