Mechanical lamp post

Mechanical lamp post

thingiverse

This is a post I made for a mechanical magnifier lamp. The lamp came with a clamp style post, that did not fit properly on my work bench. This post is designed to slot into the side rails on industrial style shelving, which is what I use as a workbench. The lamp itself is quite heavy, and can extends out about three feet, so the post is intended to be printed with at least 4 shells, 25% infill, and supports enabled for printing it in its most vertical orientation. Additionally, there are two slots for optional zip ties to better hold it in place while manipulating the lamp. Added a modified version that is a little beefier. After two months of heavy use, the first design failed. Would also recommend ABS or PETG over PLA.
