Medal Display Picture Frame

I created this picture frame so I can display my runners (really walking at my age) medals. I also wanted to see on display the ribbon the medals come on. The frame: I printed the frame in a matte PLA because the regular PLA and PETG did not look good with a shine. The post is printed in PETG for strength. The optional spacer was printed in anything I had laying around. The spacer is helpful with alignment when mounting to the wall. I taped a 4' straight edge to the wall to help. The frame is mounted to the wall using Command Velcro Strips. My son wanted to be able to take his down. I am guessing to show his friends. Pay attention to the picture that shows the back with ribbon installed. The ribbon usually lays best only one way. I included a picture face up to help visualize what I mean next. You will do your installation face down. The post is installed with notch facing you and by lightly pushing the post under the piece that holds the Command Strip. Then slide post into a slot in the bottom of the frame. Post holds the picture and medal with friction and the notch only. Notch end goes up, not down into frame. No glue. The Picture: The picture size is a 4x4 inches. If you are going to use the certificates some of these virtual challenge companies, then you may want to add a border and resize the picture to a 3:2 aspect ratio. If you do not then you might lose some of the printing close to the edge. Play with it. I added 3 mil around the square certificate, the 1" to the top and bottom. When I got the pictures back from CVS Photo the picture was copied. The border was missing, left to right. Then I cutaway the excess from the top and bottom. I backed the pictures in the frames with 3 layers of cardstock. Enjoy.
