This Medical Vein Finder was designed by Excel TECC CADD Engineering Technology Seniors as part of a collaboration with the Excel TECC Medical Technologies Program. Designed by students, for students, this project can be built by any secondary engineering or manufacturing program. Featuring a custom PC board, body printable in PETG for cleaning with alcohol, and on-board charging, this device can be built for under $50.00. UPDATE: Our three-student design team earned a silver medal at the SkillsUSA Ohio State Championships in the Engineering Technology and Design contest for this project. You will need basic SMD (Surface-Mounted Device) assembly skills, as well as basic fabrication skills to make the aluminum heatsink.
