Mehanograf, Mechanical lamp

thingiverse

This is my version of the mechanical lamp or mehanograf lamp. The original file is a free .dxf or .cdr file for lasercut, you can find it easily online. I made some adjustments to make it 3D printable. Basically I had to start from scratch, but I used the original measurements. Everything fits tight, so you have to clean every pin and hole thoroughly with a file or something. Make sure that the moving parts can move freely, I used a little vaseline on the parts that I didn’t want to stick before gluing. When you put it together you need to be careful with the sequence, work from the center outwards. Think a few steps ahead before you use the glue. Make sure the teeth of the main cog A and B are aligned when you put the two sides together. I used a high percentage of infill on the pins and caps to make them strong. It needs to be mounted on a baseplate or something, to make it stable and to ensure that the cogs can rotate. I used a 5v usb light which I took apart and made a holder for it, I guess you’ll have to find something like that yourself. It will take some time to print, clean and assemble, so be patient. Enjoy Update: cellocgw can provide STL files "templates" for tBulb lamps. https://www.toolmoon.com/ . You can send him a note. https://www.thingiverse.com/cellocgw Update: I have added some more images for assembly
